When do I need to purchase a license?
When you upload your song to streaming platforms like Spotify or Apple Music, or release it anywhere for money.
Do I need a license if I’m not making any money from my song?
Yes. Streaming services count as a release whether the song earns or not, so you need a license to upload it there.
What does “free for non-profit” mean?
You can use the beat without making money from it: for example, a YouTube or SoundCloud upload with monetization turned off. Credit me as prod. molzbeat.
Will my track have a tag after I buy a license?
No. Every license comes with untagged files.

Can others use the beat I’ve licensed?
Yes. A lease is non-exclusive, so other artists can license the same beat until someone buys the exclusive.
Do you offer exclusive licenses?
Yes, from $350 depending on the beat. Write to me for the exact price.
What happens if someone buys the exclusive for a beat I’ve licensed?
Your license stays valid, but you can no longer upgrade it. If you hadn’t licensed the beat before the exclusive sale, you can’t release your song on streaming platforms.
How do I redeem “Buy 2, Get 1 Free”?
Add 3 beats to your cart on BeatStars and the discount applies automatically.
When will I receive my files?
Right after payment: BeatStars sends the download link and the license PDF to your email.
Can I read the contract before buying?
Yes. Add the beat to your cart on BeatStars and click “Review license”.
Can I get a refund?
No, all sales are final. If you made a mistake, like buying the same beat twice, write to me and I may offer a replacement.
What are stems and do I need them?
Stems are the separate tracks of the beat: drums, bass, samples and so on. They let you mute the drums or filter the sample at a certain moment, and give your engineer a cleaner mix.
What if I go over my stream limit?
Write to me and upgrade: you pay only the difference between the licenses, not the full price.
I got a Content ID claim on YouTube. Can you help?
Yes. Send me proof of your license and I’ll help release the claim. Sometimes claims come from a similar beat registered in Content ID; then you dispute it through YouTube.
Do you use samples that need clearance?
I use samples I make myself, samples from Splice and loops from licensed libraries. Library loops don’t need clearance for independent releases; if you sign to a major label or pass 1 million streams, write to me and we’ll sort out the clearance.
Do you make custom beats?
Rarely, for serious requests. A custom beat starts at $1,500.
Can we split royalties instead of buying a license?
No.
