Bars to time

How long is a verse, actually? Enter the tempo and the number of bars — get the length in seconds. Useful for planning song structure and hitting streaming length targets.

Why this matters for streaming

A stream counts on most platforms only after about 30 seconds of listening. That sounds like nothing until you check the math: at 140 BPM, sixteen bars runs about 27 seconds. Your whole first verse can end before the stream registers.

Practical fix — put the hook first, or open with something that holds attention immediately. Long atmospheric intros sound great on headphones and quietly cost you plays.

Typical structure

  • Intro — 4–8 bars
  • Hook — 8 bars
  • Verse — 16 bars
  • Full song — around 68 bars, roughly 3 minutes at 90 BPM
